Hello! I’m Celine, I’m currently 25 years old and I’m from the Netherlands.

I grew up loving to draw. As a little kid I used to give my grandma a drawing every day (sadly I don’t think those early works still exist).

I was a student at Mariet Giesbertz’ studio (outside of school) for about 14 years, starting when I was in second grade (about 7/8 years old I think).

Sometime during my high school years I fell in love with making portraits and later on I fell in love with painting and started combining the two. I mostly paint portraits of people who inspire me and of fictional characters who I love.

From september 2018 until february 2019 I was an intern at Thijs Heijnen’s studio (ThijsArt). Among a lot of things I learned how to work with spray paint and patterns there, which I’ve since then started using in my work too.

In the summer of 2019 I graduated from the Maastricht Academy of Media Design and Technology (MAMDT for short), where I studied illustration specifically.

I am currently working to get a teaching degree at Fine Art and Design in Education at Hogeschool Zuyd. I’ve completed several teaching internships among which an internship where I learned about developing courses involving film education.

I’m passionate about art, about stories, about media and about making people interested in conversations involving cultural topics.
